End of the year news

Hi 4S!
It's hard to believe that this year is almost over and you're about to be in 5th grade next year!  With that being said, we still have some fun events planned and final units to wrap up before June 10th.

Here is the final countdown of events. Let's start with our Final Units of study first:

Reading:  Reader's Theater Play practice.  Performances on 6/4 and 6/5.

Math:  Finishing our Geometry Unit up by the end of next week with classifying trianges and quadrilaterals.  Moving on to parallel and perpendicular lines and finally, lines of symmetry.

Science:  Finishing Ecosystems Unit.  There will be a "family living" talk on 6/9.  Form explaining more will be coming home shortly.

Social Studies: We are quickly approaching the end of our research for West and Southwest Regions of the United States.  Next up....learning about the Prezi we are creating to present all our hard work!

Writing:  We will publish our Persuasive Papers this week! We will do a "light study" into the world of poetry and will write five different poems in five different styles.

Spelling:  This week and next...that's it!

UPCOMING DATES!!!

-6/6 FIELD DAY (volunteers sheets can be returned ASAP please)
-6/9 Family Living Talk
-6/10  Last Day (Full day) Report cards home

* We will still have final Audioboos from students to finish our year too!

Scooping for water samples.

Do you see this!?!

Look!  We found a crawfish!  A leech!  A Dragonfly Nymph!  An Aquatic Worm!

Laying on our stomachs to safely scoop up water samples.

Will Mrs. Hesselfifferdinker's house get flooded?  Find out in this activity called, "Flood Control."
