Social studies-we are learning about government (judicial, legislative and executive branch.) and United States Economy

Science-The class is learning about the parts of plants and how they grow and different kinds of plants.

Reading-The class is doing a book report on nonfiction, informational text books. We get to make a Telagami with the school’s IPADS!

We also are reading National Geographic articles. We are doing the reading switch. In the reading switch we are focusing on characterization and keeping track of our thinking.

We are about to read the Bluestem book, I Feel Better With a Frog in my Throat and right now we are reading, The Lemonade Wars. We are trying to beat all the other 4th grade classes!

In the Madison hallways we have letters and everybody thinks the letters spell ‘respect’.

Some people are doing Battle of the Books in battle of the books you read books and then you battle at the library and Madison is in second place so far

Typing-in typing we are doing typing training.

  1. Sounds like you are learning all kinds of practical and creative things right now! Even though I don't work for the government, my work as a lawyer intersects with the various governmental branches all the time, mostly the legislative and judicial branches. Interesting stuff! Thanks for the update, Jada and Miya!
