Here's What's Happening in 4S!

Gym:  In gym were doing Frisbee golf.  There’s a hole and you try to get the Frisbee in the hole with the fewest amount of throws. It is fun!

Social Studies:  This week we painted our dough islands. We painted it by its elevation level. We are learning about longitude this week.

Reading:  In reading we are doing questioning with extreme sports. The sports have been whitewater rafting, BASE jumping and freestyle motor cross. We’re learning about 3 types of questions. Right there questions, putting it together questions,  and author and me questions. In read aloud we are reading “Bunnicula”.

Science:  In science we are classifying plants. We did a science experiment. We put a carnation in a beeker with water in it. Then we put food coloring in it. We have to wait and see what happens. It was a cool experiment.  It’s an experiment to show how Vascular Plants carry water and nutrients.

Math:  In math we are learning about mental math. Mental math is math that you do in your head. It is pretty easy so far for me and Jason isn’t learning about that because he’s in PACE.

Spelling: We are doing a Focus List this week.  We won’t have another Focus Words test for a long time!
