1/16-1/20

Hey 4S!
Hannah and Sydney here! This week is a short week so in spelling we have the focus words, as usual. We have done them so much that they shouldn’t be too hard! ;)   In gym we are doing volleyball. It’s been really fun. We plan on doing a game pretty soon so be ready. GAME ON! In reading we are doing Stone Fox. I , Hannah, am in PACE, so I don’t do it with them! J  It certainly has been really fun out at recess with all the snow. LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW! LET IT SNOW!  In math it has just been review so it hasn’t been very hard. The reading incentive this year will begin on Monday so get ready to read! This year’s theme is Reading Is Illuminating! If our school read’s 200,000 minutes then we could get a professional laser light show! Wouldn’t that be fun!??! Also if your grade read’s the most minutes you win a Late Over at school. If you read 560 minutes (20 min. a day) you win a light up glow stick. Really cool!! So that’s the update for this week!

(P.S. keep checking the blog for updates on Mrs. Schroeder and Stella)
PS--> We are having some slight difficulty adding photos to the blog so keep checking and we will put them up soon!

Week of 1/9-1/13

Spelling:  For spelling there is possessive words like ‘s and s’. So confusing!!  It’s really hard but fun though. Also we don’t have challenge words so we all get to do 20 words. (Sometimes Miss Bim gives us 1 challenge word!)
Reading: In reading we are Stone Fox. We have to look for vocab words and similes. But we just got our group so now everything’s a little bit easier with everyone’s help!!
Science: In science we just did our potato experiments. Yeah!!  We also took some test about seeds and spores. But today we got back our potatoes to check on them… not too much had changed.
Writing: For writing we took a test where we had to write to write 5 paragraphs in expository form.
Social Studies: For social studies we are learning about the 3 branches of the government Legislative, Executive and Judicial branch. The class was split into 3 groups, one for each branch.   This was so everyone could learn about all the branches and see the differences. We also paired up to write a bill to made Madison school a better place. We will see if our bills become laws next week!
Math: In math we have a test today. It’s about congruent shapes and lines of symmetry..
